Search Blount County Court Records Online
Blount County does not publish one free county-hosted search for every Circuit Court and District Court case file. The official statewide trial-court access path is Alacourt ACCESS, also called Just One Look. Its public page describes on-demand access to Alabama state trial court records one case at a time. The listed categories include criminal, civil, small claims, state traffic, domestic relations, and child support records. The public page also identifies name search and case-number search as the main lookup paths.
Alacourt is not the only access channel. Certified copies, older archived files, and records that are not easy to find online should be requested through the Blount County Circuit Clerk. Probate matters use the Probate Office portal. Appellate matters use the Alabama appellate portal. Municipal court tickets from Oneonta, Blountsville, and Snead must be checked with the city court that handled the citation.
The Alacourt ACCESS homepage is the lead online source for Blount County Circuit Court and District Court records that are available through Alabama's trial-court system.
That portal should be treated as a paid trial-court lookup, not as the clerk's full copy counter or a complete index of every public record in Blount County.

For appellate matters, the Alabama Appellate Courts Public Portal has a different field set, with case search and party search paths. It is useful only after a Blount County case has moved into an Alabama appellate court.

Other Blount County Court Records Channels
AlaFile and eForms serve a different purpose from public search. AlaFile is Alabama's electronic filing and e-notice portal. Pro se litigants may need to print a registration form and present state photo identification to the clerk before receiving electronic notices. Alabama AOC eForms provides official forms for civil, criminal, juvenile, domestic, probate, small claims, and traffic matters.
The AlaFile portal belongs in the Blount County court records workflow because filing and notice records often explain why a docket has moved even when the public search result is brief.
AlaFile is not a broad public search substitute. It is mainly an e-filing and e-notice channel tied to court participation and registration.
Probate files should be searched through Blount Probate Online Services when the record is a probate case or land recording. That portal has buttons for land records, probate case records, record account login, search instructions, account creation instructions, and an INGRecords path. Its terms prohibit screen scraping, automated logins, automated navigation, and bot-like interaction, so searches should be done manually.
Public Access for Blount County Court Records
Alabama public-records law, including Code of Alabama Section 36-12-40 and the 2024 amendments adding Sections 36-12-43 through 36-12-46, supports the right to inspect and obtain copies of public records unless an exemption applies. Court records also operate under judiciary rules, case-specific orders, and confidentiality statutes. The practical rule in Blount County is to start with the record custodian: Circuit Clerk for Circuit and District Court files, Probate Office for probate and recording records, municipal court for city tickets, and the appellate portal for appeals.
Copy access is not the same as online lookup. Code of Alabama Section 36-12-41 frames public-record copy access, but court-specific fees and procedures may control the actual cost.
